The event is one of a long series organized by Erich Gnaiger (inventor of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oroboros.at\/index.php?id=oxygraph\">Oroboros Oxygraph2k<\/a> respirometry apparatus).\u00a0 The meeting included a series of methods workshops and scientific talks from abstracts, as well as didactic lectures based on a framework of the book &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Bioenergetics-Fourth-David-G-Nicholls\/dp\/012388425X\/ref=sr_1_1\/178-5278663-3311253?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1439842666&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=bioenergetics+4\">Bioenergetics 4<\/a>&#8220;, one of whose authors (David Nicholls) gave several lectures.<\/p>\n<p>My lecture was on &#8220;Mitochondrial ROS generation&#8221;, a seemingly massive topic which cannot really be covered in any depth in 45 minutes.\u00a0 But anyway, <a href=\"https:\/\/psblab.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/2015-MiP-Mito-ROS-Generation-for-web.pdf\">here are the slides <\/a>(PDF), in case anyone might find them useful.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week I had the honor of being a speaker at the &#8220;MiP&#8221; (mitochondrial physiology) school, in Greenville NC.
